2019 Summer in Review

I’m not sure that there are words that can describe how extraordinary my summer was this year. I really don’t think that they exist. I thank God everyday for all of the blessings he has given me. I was very lucky to be able to travel to three new places, each of them beautiful in their own way. Between travels my days were filled with soccer, conditioning, and preparing myself for the big college move that was fast approaching. Iceland My travels kicked off at the end of June with a big graduation present from my parents. My dad, sister, and I […]

Driving the Golden Circle

The Golden Circle is a very popular driving route in Iceland that hits a lot of popular attractions. The circle is a very easy drive and can be completed in less than a day so many visitors include this trip into their itinerary. We knocked off the first stop at Thingvellir National Park early in the morning with snorkeling in Silfra. Thingvellir itself was so pretty. All the green with, the glassy looking ponds, and mountains in the distance made for quite the site. We didn’t spend that much time exploring the park but I’m sure we would have be in awe […]

Snorkeling in the World’s Clearest Water

Early wake up call this morning because we had a very exciting appointment to get to! We were going snorkeling in Silfra fissure, a crack right between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The Silfra fissure fills with glacial water that has been filtered underground for decades through lava rock. The filtering process of the glacial water makes Silfra one of the clearest bodies of water on earth with up to 120 meters of visibility. For my first time snorkeling this was definitely the best way to start with a bang! We had a little bit of a drive to […]

Exploring Reykjavik

The city is a whole new change of scenery compared to driving in the country. There is actually civilization and buildings! Luckily our apartment is right in the center of the city so we could walk to all of the city attractions. We started with a little self guided walking tour to make sure we hit all of the major spots. About two blocks away from our apartment was the Hallgrimskirkja Church, the largest church in the country. You can’t miss the very tall clock tower. For a cheap ticket you can even ride the elevator to the top and […]

Riding Icelandic Horses

After a nice breakfast made by Chef Dad we packed up our stuff, waved by to our lovely box house, and hit the road to start on our South Coast adventure! Our first stop was the Seljandrofoss Waterfall. The thing that separates this waterfall from the rest is that visitors have the opportunity to walk around the backside of the falls, under the mountain. When driving to the waterfall, it is so grand that you can see it from miles away. The weather was kinda foggy but it made the falls look even more mystical. Getting soaked in the cold […]

Basking in the Blue Lagoon

What a way to start this amazing trip. After 2 flights and waiting in the airport for 6 hours our first stop was the famous Blue Lagoon Spa. The Spa is only about a 15 minute drive from the airport, so people usually stop on their way into the city or before leaving Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa found on the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwest Iceland. It is one of the most popular attractions in Iceland and it is considered to have notable regenerative qualities because the water is rich in silica and sulphur. I had dreamed about visiting […]

My Mission Trip to Puerto Rico — An Experience of a Lifetime

I had the most incredible adventure in April while serving the beautiful community of Arecibo in Puerto Rico. I met the most amazing people with the most beautiful souls. This was my very first mission trip and I loved every single second of it. When this opportunity arose back in the beginning of the school year I jumped right on it. A mission trip is the best of both of my worlds. Serving others and seeing the world at the same time- what more could I ask for? I had really grand expectations for this trip after hearing from others how life […]

Holidays in San Francisco

Oh how I’ve missed my Cali. I don’t even remember how many years its been since I last visited. I think it gets more beautiful every time I go though! There’s breathtaking views everywhere you look. The weather, scenery, and overall vibes are just so amazing. This was my second time to San Francisco, although I’m not sure I can count the first since I was only 2 years old haha. This trip was four days of jam packed sightseeing and family time and it couldn’t have been better! Let me tell you about all the fun places we explored… Sutro Baths […]

Fun in Phoenix

I’m backkkkkk!!! Sorry for the long break but I had some technical issues that took a while to solve, but we’re back up and running! … In mid November I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Phoenix for the second time with my soccer team to play in the ECNL Showcase. Now, I have to say, the Reach 11 Sports Complex has THE prettiest fields I’ve ever played at. The grass is amazing and the mountains in the background make the scene picture perfect. It looks like it came out of a picture book! I remember a year ago on this same […]

See Ya Later Europe

April 21, 2017 Today was take two on watching the changing of the guard at the Buckingham Palace. Except for this time, we had insight information as to where the guards practice before the changing. This was cool because when they warm up they can play any music they want to and it is also a lot less crowded. We saw the guards practicing up close and then a complete surprise happened! So this is how it went down. We made friends with a group of older men who were standing next to us at the fence. They were all retired […]
