Driving the Golden Circle

The Golden Circle is a very popular driving route in Iceland that hits a lot of popular attractions. The circle is a very easy drive and can be completed in less than a day so many visitors include this trip into their itinerary. We knocked off the first stop at Thingvellir National Park early in the morning with snorkeling in Silfra. Thingvellir itself was so pretty. Basking in the Blue Lagoon

What a way to start this amazing trip. After 2 flights and waiting in the airport for 6 hours our first stop was the famous Blue Lagoon Spa. The Spa is only about a 15 minute drive from the airport, so people usually stop on their way into the city or before leaving Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa found on the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwest Iceland.
