Thank You, Next

It’s difficult to close a chapter in life. Especially when you lived and breathed that chapter since you were 5 years old. That chapter for me is soccer. Yes, it’s true. I have decided to step away from playing collegiate soccer. Being a college athlete is a job that takes commitment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days out of the year. It’s very difficult to fully understand that concept until you’ve actually experienced it for yourself. In order to compete at your highest level you have to be constantly managing your training, sleep, diet, fitness, recovery […]

The Little Things

So much has happened in the past month. I have many things to share, posts to write, and videos to make. Sometimes thinking about everything thats on the to-do list can be very overwhelming. Sometimes it’s best to just take a deep breath and embrace it all. I appreciate the fact that sometimes I feel overwhelmed because there is just so much I want  to accomplish. I have passions, goals, and dreams that need fueling. I recognize thats not always the case for everyone. As I sit in the car on this road trip back home from Tennessee I watch the […]

My Only Flex Ever

I was scrolling through Twitter one day and came across a tweet from Jay Alvarrez. He’s an action sports junkie, model, social media superstar, and someone who I had been following for about a year now. I admire his fearlessness to travel the world, his determination to live without regrets, and his pure zeal for life. Right when I read his tweet something clicked with me and it triggered me to start thinking about it’s meaning. My only flex ever will be my imagination for life.. all else is temporary & replaceable. – Jay Alvarrez Now I must give a little […]

Why Travel?

As a result of my school being pretty small we have the opportunity to do some really neat things. One of those being what we call “Bridge Week”. This week takes place after midterms and it’s a small break from the hustle and bustle of school work. It bridges the gap from the first semester to second semester, hence the name. Each year a new theme is created for the week and the five days are filled with different speakers, field trips, and activities. The 2019 theme was “Mind, Body, and Soul”. I was assigned the task to pick a topic of […]

I Committed to College

The time has finally come. I did it. After almost four years of lots of hardwork. After visiting twenty-seven different college campuses, writing over one hundred and thirty five emails, and attending nine different ID camps, I have finally decided where I am going to further both my education and athletic career and where I am going to call home for the next four years of my life. I started playing soccer when I was four years old. I was a little girl without a care in the world, running around the boxed in field, chasing a ball, and having the time of my […]

Summer 2018

Wow. It’s been quite the summer so far. I feel like I’ve been traveling non-stop and going hard since I took my last exam of the school year. I have just returned from my last big trip of the summer and can now focus all my energy on getting ready for senior year. I went from Seattle, Washington to Hilton Head, South Carolina to Princeton, New Jersey and experienced some really amazing things during each trip so get ready for some great content coming soon. I can now take the time I need to write about each one. The rest of […]

My Hispanic Heritage

A couple months ago I was invited to apply for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s Youth Leadership Institute. This is a summer program where you spend a couple nights at either Princeton University, University of Chicago, or University Southern California and spend the week talking about leadership and the importance of college. The official description is as follows: YLI is a four-day, overnight, college empowerment conference for Latino high school juniors held at three top universities across the US. This highly selective program is designed to give young leaders the practical tools they need to successfully apply to top universities, have full access to […]

This is the Greatest Show

If you don’t know me then you don’t know that I love movies with a passion. There’s just something about snuggling up on the couch and having your world turned upside down or having a new outlook on something spark in you or getting that ache in your heart that says love is undeniably the most beautiful thing on earth or its the most painful, all in a matter of a couple of hours. About 4 months ago I was sitting in the theater watching the trailers before the movie started. In my opinion, the trailers are half the excitement! […]

Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018

2017. What a wild and unforgettable year that I am forever thankful for. Just to recap on the highlights: I traveled to Europe for the first time, visiting London and Barcelona, and opened my eyes to some of the wonders that the other side of the world holds. I moved out of the house I had lived in for all 15 years of my life and into another which has proven to be more than perfect for our family. With that, I took full advantage of the opportunity to decorate my new room and turn it into my personal haven. (room […]
