If you don’t know me then you don’t know that I love movies with a passion. There’s just something about snuggling up on the couch and having your world turned upside down or having a new outlook on something spark in you or getting that ache in your heart that says love is undeniably the most beautiful thing on earth or its the most painful, all in a matter of a couple of hours. About 4 months ago I was sitting in the theater watching the trailers before the movie started. In my opinion, the trailers are half the excitement! It’s the one opportunity you get to see a preview of multiple upcoming films. This is where I make a list of my future “Movies I Can’t Miss in the Theater”. The ones that just look so good I won’t be able to wait till they come out on DVD or a streaming service so I have to watch them when they come out in the theater.
Anyways, when the trailer for this movie came on I got a feeling in my gut that I was going to love it. I mean how couldn’t you when Hugh Jackman, Zach Efron, and Zendaya are the stars. Not to mention it’s a musical and who doesn’t love a movie that makes you want to jump out of your seat and start dancing. I knew all the words to the songs within a week because I couldn’t stop listening to the amazing songs, each with their own powerful and perfect message. That’s exactly what this movie is: perfect. Perfect for the entire family, young and old. Perfect to get you pumped up on game day or give you comfort when times get tough. This movie also teaches some great lessons:
- Don’t be ashamed of who you are because you are beautiful
- Don’t take for granted the people that love you
- We are human and make mistakes
- We are the only ones that can make the most of our lives
- Hard work is worth everything
The Greatest Showman is a movie that you definitely will not want to miss and I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. If you’re thinking, “musicals are not really my thing” then just a take a chance and I guarantee it will at least put a smile on your face. I can tell you it put millions on mine!
